Client Info
OpenBioML is a decentralised, collaborative research community founded on the belief that open source machine learning and open science can accelerate biotechnology.
Role
Led a team of designers to create the branding from ideation to completion.
WIP Logo Options
Upon initial research into what OpenBioML (OBML) does, three variations were created to focus on the shape of DNA. The options shown from left to right, reflects a DNA protein fold, molecular bonds within them and flattened protein structure shapes. When presented to the research team, they felt the right hand side design more accurately visualises the particular protein fold structure they work on.
Final Logo
Based on the team’s feedback above, I perfected the logo further to create a clearer image of a flattened protein structure. The clean structure of the final depiction reflects OBML’s professionalism in this field, and is loved by the research team.
Extended Branding
From the use of vibrant colours, to logo variants and 3D graphics of types of bio matter, we created assets that cover a wide range of use cases to help the OBML team visualise complex medical terms. This library of branding assets reflects OBML’s bio-centred services, and resonates with the wider open medical research community.
