Sonder is the profound feeling of realising that everyone, including strangers passed in the street, has a life as vivid and complex as one's own, which they are constantly living despite one's personal lack of awareness of it.

Inspired by the various personalities & quirky characters that make London what it is, our short film ‘SONDER' explores the idea behind the brief encounters Londoners have in their day to day life, and is a celebration of the variety of people in London. While sitting on the tube, bus, or in a lift, the curiosity about other people’s lives often takes over as we share a short amount of time in a confined space.

This light hearted & fun short film will star 3 different independent characters of different age ranges who are complete strangers sharing a lift. We will take a journey through each character’s imagination as they share the lift together and wonder about each others lives, capturing the vivid and frivolous quality of the imagination to construct a crazy scenario where each character has a hidden quirky persona below the surface. The scene starts and ends in the lift, with a comedic twist at the end. The aesthetics of the short film is heavily inspired by Wes Anderson’s work.
